Armenia Holidays from Dubai
Armenia rewards travellers who like history in landscape. Monasteries sit at the edge of gorges, inside caves and on high plateaus, and most are within a couple of hours of Yerevan — which makes a short trip surprisingly rich.
Yerevan itself is built in warm pink tuff stone, with a café culture that spills onto the streets from late morning onwards. Lake Sevan provides a change of scale, and the cable car to Tatev in the south is among the longest of its kind.
Highlights
- Yerevan’s Republic Square, Cascade Complex and Vernissage market
- Garni, a Hellenistic temple above the Azat gorge
- Geghand Monastery, partly carved directly into rock
- Khor Virap with Mount Ararat rising behind it
- Lake Sevan and the Sevanavank peninsula
- The Wings of Tatev cable car to Tatev Monastery

Best time to visit
May, June, September and October offer the best balance of weather and clear views of Ararat. July and August are hot in Yerevan though cooler at Sevan and Dilijan. Winter is cold, with snow affecting some mountain routes.
